ABOUT US: Who We Are

The Wayne Area Human Resource Association (WAHRA) began as the Wooster Personnel Association in the fall of 1966 and was affiliated with the Wooster Chamber of Commerce. On October 2, 1968, the name changed and the organization became known as the Wayne County Personnel Association (WCPA). 

The WCPA made application for affiliation with the American Society of Personnel Administration (ASPA) in October 1968 and was accepted as Chapter Number 0108 in November 1968 by ASPA’s Board of Directors. ASPA is known today as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). 

Charter Members of the WCPA:

In December 1994, the name of the organization changed to the Wayne Area Human Resources Association. Today, we are known as the Wayne Area Human Resource Association (WAHRA).
